The Ridgefield Operation of Animal Rescue (ROAR) is pleased to announce the “Very Scary Furry Scurry” 2 mile walk/run and Kids’ Ding Dong Dash in support of the shelter. ROAR is a local animal shelter that was founded in 2000 committed to enhancing the bond between people and pets through education and community outreach and has placed almost 4,500 neglected and unwanted cats and dogs in caring homes throughout Ridgefield and surrounding towns. This year, following the race, there will be the Furry Scurry Festival from 11am to 3pm which will be a kid and dog friendly festival full of games and activities, food trucks, live music, and tons of vendors!

Ridgefield Rec Center trail will be used as the track. The walk/run will be 2 miles in length and costumes for you and your dog are welcomed and encouraged! There will also be awards for first place runners (one adult and one child) and first place adult and dog team runners.
Along with the 2 mile run/walk, there will be the Kid's Ding Dong Dash. The Ding Dong Dash is for younger children who cannot or do not want to run the 2 miles. The kids run a specific route that will zig-zag across the rec center field stopping at 4 stations. At each stop the child will be asked to do a “trick" to get a “treat" that will make this very scary furry scurry, a little less scary!
